DAY 1: We have chosen one of the most beautiful times of the year, cherry blossom season, to visit Washington, D.C. Today we will get acquainted with our fellow passengers, all of us excited to see places we’ve heard about our entire lives. Overnight - Galesburg, IL

DAY 2: We notice the landscape becomes more forested as we travel east. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway makes for an exciting afternoon stop. We can take a track tour, schedule and weather permitting, and look at racing cars and memorabilia in the museum. Overnight - Springfield, OH (B)

DAY 3: Our destination today is Gettysburg, PA, which is surrounded by the Gettysburg National Military Park. Here the bloodiest battle of the Civil War was fought. We stop at the Peace Monument before checking into our hotel for the evening. Overnight - Gettysburg, PA (B)

DAY 4 - 7: Our day begins at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center where we find a movie, the Cyclorama and one of the largest collections of Civil War artifacts in the world. Then a step-on guide brings the Civil War to life on our Gettysburg Battlefield Tour. We can relax with an included Box Lunch on the drive to our nation’s capital. The possibility of cherry blossoms and other spring flowers makes this a beautiful time of the year to visit. A local guide will be with us for 1½ days on a Washington Guided City Tour. During our busy days of sightseeing in the area, we will view the White House, the Washington Monument, the Supreme Court, the Library of Congress and Embassy Row; visit the United States Capitol, U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, the Smithsonian Institution, Mount Vernon, Arlington National Cemetery with the Kennedy gravesites and Changing of the Guard and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception; and see the well-known Monuments and Memorials. Sightseeing will be limited only by time, current restrictions, and our stamina! Overnight -

DAY 8: Our drive this morning brings us into the rolling hills of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, home to the Pennsylvania Dutch. We begin our visit to the Amish with an included family-style Lunch that includes chow chow and shoo fly pie. We can walk off our meal as we tour the Amish Farm and Home, learning about the lifestyle of the Plain People. We continue with a drive through Amish countryside and time for some shopping. Additional pickup points are scheduled based on the tour routing.
