This afternoon a stop is made at Rudolph Grotto Gardens, set amongst trees and flowers with man-made rock surroundings. Visit St. Jude's Chapel, the Grotto Museum, and Gift Shop.
Day 2 | Appleton, WI to Sister Bay, WI
Your day starts with a visit to Renard’s Cheese to learn about the history and process of cheese making. Next, at Popelka Trenchard Glass, a working hot glass studio, watch a live demonstration. This afternoon on Fish Creek Scenic Boat Tour, the guided tour will take you along Peninsula State Park’s seven-mile shoreline. When finished, there will be time to check the neatest shops on the Peninsula. At tonight’s included dinner watch the boilover, and enjoy the technique and cooking process of the Traditional Door County Fish Boil.
Day 3 | Sister Bay, WI
The day begins at Al Johnson’s Restaurant, known for goats that graze on the sod roof! Then we meet our guie for a tour of Northern door, with the first stop at Dan Meunier School House. Dan is a composer, singer, and storyteller who holds concerts in his historic schoolhouse, which also doubles as a museum. At Koepsel’s Farm Market, sample all the homemade items for sale. You’ll also visit Cana Island Lighthouse, the most photographed lighthouse in door county. You’ll reach the island via a hay wagon ride over a sandy causeway.
Day 4 | Sister Bay, WI
This morning travel to the top of Door County, known locally as the “Top of the Thumb.” With a step-on guide enjoy a Ferry Ride to Washington Island at Northport pier. While there, see and visit Schoolhouse Beach at historic Washington Harbor, the beautiful Stavkirke Church, along with a visit to Washington Island Farm Museum. You’ll also learn about commercial fishing in Jackson Harbor.
Day 5 | Sister Bay, WI to Eau Claire, WI
As you begin your journey home, we’ll stop at Seaquist Orchards Farm Market for a tour and an opportunity to purchase some of Wisconsin’s famous cheese. Then enjoy a narrated Door County Trolley Tour aboard an “old-time” trolley and see breathtaking vistas from scenic bluffs overlooking the islands.
Day 6 | Eau Claire, WI to Home
Before leaving Wisconsin today, you'll make a stop at Cady Cheese. Your Discover Door County tour concludes this evening.
